Sam Reynolds is a Research Lead at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), where he analyzes the economic, financial, and climate implications of Asia’s energy transition. He is the author of several studies concerning the region’s expansion of natural gas infrastructure, the financial performance of fossil fuel companies, and renewable energy investment trends.

As a former political and regulatory risk analyst focusing on global oil and LNG markets, Sam covered judicial, legislative, and executive actions that impacted U.S. energy and environmental policy. His work has been published in local and international media outlets around the world.

He holds a master’s degree in energy economics and international environmental law from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in international development from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
