COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, MARCH 14-16; EXPERTS FROM EUROPE, ASIA, AUSTRALIA,  AND THE AMERICAS

NEW YORK, Feb. 29, 2016 — The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) today announced a 2016 conference lineup that includes leading energy finance experts, industry regulators, institutional investors, activists, market analysts and commentators from around the world.

The conference, Energy Finance 2016, is March 14-16 at Columbia University Law School.

“This promises to be a timely and spirited three days of strategy discussion and debate on the fast-moving global energy economy,” said Sandy Buchanan, IEEFA’s executive director. “Our panels and plenaries will showcase expertise from around the globe, and will zero in on frontline reports from dozens of locales affecting millions of people.”

On the agenda: Evolving electricity-generation markets, renewable energy development, coal-industry divestment, shale gas emissions and pipeline controversies,  investor activism and market risk.

“We will range from divestiture, the politics of energy and the latest trends in electricity-generation innovation to declining coal-consumption patterns and coal industry bankruptcies and financial distress,” Buchanan said.
