Alasdair Docherty is the Sustainable Finance & Data Analyst for IEEFA’s European team. His work focuses on sustainable finance, asset management and the financial risks and opportunities associated with the energy transition.

His research examines how financial markets, policy design and investment products shape real-economy decarbonisation. Recent work has focused on Germany’s hydrogen strategy, fossil fuel volatility as a systemic financial risk, universal ownership, transition finance, regulation and the role of asset owners in reducing economy-wide climate and energy risks.

Before joining IEEFA, Alasdair spent more than 15 years at Schroders, working across equity investment operations, product development and sustainability implementation. He previously worked at FactSet Research Systems and has a background in data analysis. He holds a degree in Business Finance from Durham University and is qualified as a data analyst through BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
