Wednesday, Sep. 09, 2026 | 12:00 PM BST

IEEFA and the International Accountability Project (IAP) launched the Global MDB Petrochemicals Investments Tracker in August 2026. The interactive tracker map s 92 petrochemical projects worth USD10.04 billion across 16 multilateral development banks (MDBs), providing insights into how public finance continues to supportthe petrochemical industry.

In this webinar, IEEFA and IAP will present the Tracker and its key findings, followed by a panel discussion exploring how MDB investments sustain the petrochemical industry and what this means for climate commitments and safeguards. Speakers will also examine the significance of these investments in regions such as Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) and sectors such as agriculture, alongside experiences from MDB-funded petrochemical projects in Nigeria.

The 90-minute webinar will bring together perspectives from Morocco, Nigeria, Sweden and the United States.
