Xuejing Chen serves as Pacific Environment’s Technical Specialist, China Program. Her work focuses on plastic reduction and its climate effects in China, and on coordinating a joint petrochemical strategy to support China’s industrial decarbonization.
Prior to joining Pacific Environment, Chen worked for international organizations including the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Basel Convention Regional Center for Asia and the Pacific and in academia, focusing on climate and the development of circular economies.
Chen holds a doctoral degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University and a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Beihang University. In addition, she has also completed a joint-training Ph.D.program from Columbia University. She is passionate about broader topics on ESG, the carbon market, environmental policy, green finance, and renewable energy.
