Meenakshi Viswanathan is an Energy Finance Analyst at IEEFA South Asia, with a focus on high-emitting sectors.
Her research lies at the intersection of climate and finance, specifically on corporate climate transition, industrial decarbonisation, and energy transition in the power sector.
Previously, Meenakshi worked on New York State's Clean Energy Communities program where she engaged with 40 local governments to decarbonize government operations, finance renewable energy projects, and develop climate mitigation strategies.
She also has a background in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the Indian healthcare, education, and nutrition sectors through her work on NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme while at IDinsight.
She holds an MPA from Columbia University and an Integrated MA in Development Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. When she is not busy analysing energy markets, Meenakshi can be found hiking, swimming, or catching all the latest movies.
