Dhruba Purkayastha works at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) as Director - Growth and Institutional Advancement.
Prior to this, he was the India Director for Climate Policy Initiative, a global non- profit research and advisory institution, working on Climate Finance, Adaptation Finance, and Energy Transition. As part of the US-India Clean Energy Finance Initiative (USICEF) between the US and Indian governments, Dhruba set up and led the USICEF Facility.
He has also set up the Center for Sustainable Finance in India at CPI to mainstream sustainability and sustainable finance in academic courses. He has over 30 years of experience in credit rating, management consulting, investment banking, engineering industries and international development financing.
As an ex-World Bank Group staff and IFC, Dhruba worked in private and financial sector development, infrastructure and clean energy financing, PPP, banking & and capital market reforms and technical assistance in improving the investment climate in India. He has worked with ICRA Ltd. for its Advisory and Consulting business in Public Policy with a focus on Infrastructure and Energy sectors.
