Shane has worked as an editor and copywriter across IEEFA’s global regions since 2023.
As a journalist, he began covering climate change for the Fleet Street press in 1990, and his science journalism has been syndicated nationally and internationally.
Prior to joining IEEFA, Shane worked at The Sydney Morning Herald for 15 years, a book editor for Penguin Australia, and as a screenwriter on film and TV projects, including ABC-TV documentaries. His work has been recognised with awards including the Michael Daley prize for science journalism. He is a member of the Australian Writers Guild’s Pathways program for emerging screenwriters.
Shane’s interests include nature, film and photography. Outside work, he can often be found bodysurfing or birdwatching.
