David Shelmerdine is a founding director and deputy chairman of ClimateWorks Centre and a director of Accounting for Nature, one of the world’s leading Standards and frameworks for measuring the state of nature.
He is a director of IEEFA Australia Pty Ltd., a member of The Myer Foundation Sustainability and Environment Committee and a member of the Adamantem Capital / Melior Australian Impact Fund Advisory Council. He is an industry advisor on climate change, nature-based solutions, agricultural supply chains and sustainable development, food, and land use systems.
David is managing director of Laradoc Pty Ltd., a privately-owned agribusiness company with interests in food and agricultural technology solutions, cropping, pastoral and livestock sectors.
David is a Past President of the Geneva-based Gold Standard Foundation, a global not for profit organisation that focuses on accelerating progress toward the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals through quantifying, certifying, and maximising the impact of a broad range of projects and programmes. David is a past Deputy Chairman of The Myer Family Investment Company Pty Ltd., a member of its investment committee, remuneration and nominations committee and Chairman of the Audit and Governance Committee.
David has a Graduate Diploma (Hons) in Agriculture from Adelaide University Roseworthy College in South Australia and has been directly involved in the management and strategic direction of several privately-owned agribusiness companies.
