Adam Hunt oversees IEEFA's global communications systems, team, content, and campaigns that help us expand our reach and impact. For over 20 years, he has led communications programs for NGOs and non-profits in Asia and the Americas. Adam came into this work supporting exiled journalists on the Thai-Burmese border, where he learned how strong storytelling can shift power and amplify overlooked voices.
Before joining IEEFA in 2026, Adam held senior communications roles at CGIAR, leading global messaging, digital strategy, flagship reports, and content. With Internews, he ran communications and media development programs in Southeast Asia, launched and edited The Mekong Eye, and facilitated the region’s environmental journalist network.
Adam holds an M.A. in Planning (International Development) from the University of British Columbia and a B.A. in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.
He enjoys travelling, writing, baseball, politics, indie films, indie music, meditation, and pop culture – along with a hundred other passions.
