Adam Hunt oversees global communications systems, content, and campaigns that expand IEEFA’s reach and impact. For over 20 years, he has led communications programs for international research and development organizations. Adam came into this work supporting exiled journalists on the Thai-Burmese border, where he learned how strong storytelling can shift power and amplify overlooked voices.
Before joining IEEFA in 2026, Adam held senior communications roles at CGIAR, leading global messaging, digital strategy, major reports, and content. With Internews, he ran communications and media development programs in Southeast Asia, launched and edited The Mekong Eye, and facilitated the region’s environmental journalist network.
Adam holds an M.A. in Planning (International Development) from the University of British Columbia and a B.A. in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.
He enjoys travelling, writing, baseball, politics, indie films and music, and pop culture. You have probably never seen his favorite film — "Neighbors" with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.
