Massive Sun Cable solar project faces multiple hurdles

The Northern Territory Government and Singaporian-Australian company Sun Cable have today signed an agreement intended to progress plans for one of the world’s biggest and most ambitious solar projects. The company has chosen a huge site on a cattle station in the Barkly region, and the Government is promising to do everything it can to facilitate approvals. But it has many hurdles to cross to get up, and both local solar farm proponents and renewables analysts are advising the Government not to bank on the project’s success.
