Entergy’s Louisiana utility seeking bids for 500MW of solar capacity

S&P Global Market Intelligence ($):

Entergy Services LLC on March 5 launched a request for proposals seeking up to 500 MW of solar photovoltaic resources on behalf of Entergy Louisiana LLC.

The request, or RFP, aims to procure new build-solar resources that can provide cost-effective energy supply, fuel diversity and other benefits to Entergy Louisiana’s customers, according to a March 5 statement by the Entergy Corp. subsidiary.

The minimum capacity in any proposal offered would need to be at least 50 MW to be considered, while the maximum proposal would be 250 MW for a power purchase agreement and 250 MW for a build-own-transfer acquisition of a self-build resource. The company will accept proposals to include a separately priced option for a battery storage system to supplement the solar resource.

Bidder registration for the RFP is expected to take place in June. Entergy Services expects to post draft RFP documents in March and final RFP documents in May.

Interested participants should monitor the RFP website for information about the posting of RFP documents and bidder registration, including the deadline to register participating bidders and proposals.
