Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has signed contracts with five developers, following its auction in 2022 of 3GW of offshore wind capacity.
Under Phase 3 Zonal Development offshore wind auction, allocated wind sites are located in Miaoli, Taichung and off the coast of Changhua.
Two of the projects have commercial operations dates in 2026 – the 600MW Haiding 2, which is being developed by Corio, and Skyborn and Lealea Group’s 300MW Haixia offshore wind farm.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs thanked all industry players for “demonstrating their determination to invest in the localisation of offshore wind power, industry and local development”.
