Repsol launches construction of 860MW Delta 2 wind complex

May 12, 2021

Spanish energy company Repsol has started construction on the 860MW Delta 2 wind complex in Spain.

The complex will comprise 26 wind farms located in the Aragon region.

The first construction stage has seen work start on the La Cometa 1 and 2 projects in the province of Zaragoza.

La Cometa 1 and 2 will have a combined capacity of 60MW and are scheduled to come into operation in the first quarter of 2022.

They will comprise four and 12 turbines, respectively.

Repsol also plans to begin construction this year on three other wind farms in the complex.

Delta 2 is expected to be completed in 2023 and will supply electricity to around 800,000 homes.

The electricity generated will avoid the emission of more than 2.6 million tons of CO2 per year.
