Mixed reaction for green light to Narrabri gas project

There’s been mixed reaction to the federal government’s decision to approve the controversial Narrabri gas project in northern NSW .

The Environment Minister Sussan Ley says she’s satisfied the biodiversity of the Pilliga Forest would be safeguarded by conditions set for the project, proposed by Santos.

It’s the final regulatory hurdle for the project which environmental groups and some farmers say will wreck the Pilliga forest and the farms around it..
