Ilmatar is studying the possibility of developing an up to 130MW solar farm in the Loimaa region of Finland.
The total project area is about 170 hectares and production is up to 130 gigawatt-hours a year.
Ilmatar development manager Antti Tiri said: “The Loimaa region is a good area for solar radiation energy in Finland.
“Now we have a reservation from the city that will allow us to take the project forward.
“We believe that a solar park of approximately 100–130MW will be adaptable to the area.
“The park produces 100 to 130 gigawatt-hours of energy per year.”
Ilmattar development director Antti Keskinen said: “I am glad that Loimaa and Ilmattare will be a pioneer in the development of solar power and will show a model for the whole of Finland with a project of this size.”
