Commercial operations begin at two new solar farms in Hungary

January 30, 2023

ReNews.biz:

Two of MET Group’s Hungarian solar farms, MET Gerjen and MET Sojtor, have begun commercial operations.

The projects cover an area of 170 hectares in two Hungarian municipalities, where almost 180,000 solar panels have been installed.

The solar farms join the electricity grid through newly installed high-voltage substations.

The commissioning of the 51MWp MET Gerjen and 45MWp MET Sojtor solar farms took place over several phases. The two facilities will generate enough green electricity to cover the consumption of around 50,000 households.

MET’s renewables expansion strategy aims to reach a 2GW installed capacity portfolio by 2026, thus playing an active role in the European energy transition.
