Saudi developer ACWA Power has finalised project agreements for the 100MW Nukus wind farm in Uzbekistan.

The $108m €96m) project will be located in the Karakalpakstan region in north-western Uzbekistan.

Nukus is Uzbekistan’s first publicly tendered wind project, which ACWA Power won after proposing a tariff of $0.025695 a kilowatt-hour.

ACWA Power signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, and a Government Support Agreement (GSA) with Uzbekistan’s government, represented by the Ministry of Finance.
